Susan Brown studied at Falkirk College, then Salford University, specialising in sculpture. She came to work at Highland Stoneware in its 25th anniversary year. It was an exciting time to start, with events and exhibitions taking place to celebrate. She has made a great contribution to some of our more organic decoration themes, including the various pebble designs, the ‘Fossil’ range, and most recently ‘Kelp’ which incorporates some local materials in the glaze. In addition to decorating, Susan has a good grasp of all things technical, and has also been learning to fire the Ullapool kiln.
Susan also enjoys producing her own work at her studio space in the ‘An Talla Solais’ art and exhibition building, Ullapool. Currently she is developing a range of silver jewellery. She is also an prodigious visual artist who has had work displayed in several art exhibitions.
